19 directors fail promotion exam for permanent secretary positions
Nineteen out of 38 directors vying for permanent secretary roles in the Federal Civil Service have failed the qualifying examination, according to a statement released by Dr. Emmanuel Meribole on behalf of the examination committee.
The test, conducted on Monday, November 11, 2024, is part of the selection process initiated by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF).
The federal government had begun the recruitment process in October to fill permanent secretary vacancies across eight states. Providing an update, Eno Olotu, Director of Press at OHCSF, said, “Nineteen directors have passed the first stage and will proceed to the second phase, which evaluates their competency in utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in government operations on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.”
Olotu noted that the selection process involves a comprehensive, three-stage assessment to ensure only the most competent candidates are appointed.
