2024 FIFA U-17 WWC: Nigeria vs New Zealand – match schedule, time, where to watch
The Nigeria U-17 women’s national football team, the Flamingos, will kick off their 2024 Women’s World Cup campaign against New Zealand on Wednesday, October 16, at Cibao Stadium.
Led by head coach Bankole Olowookere, the Flamingos head into the match after a 1-1 draw in a friendly against Mexico, where Faridat Abdulkareem gave Nigeria an early lead before the opposition equalized before half-time.
Nigeria is in Group A alongside host nation Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and New Zealand. The Flamingos will look to replicate their success from the 2022 edition, where they triumphed 4-0 over New Zealand and ultimately finished third in the tournament.
This year’s competition sees Nigeria aiming for a strong start as they seek another deep run on the world stage.
