2025 AFCONQ: Angry Ghanaian fans raid stadium following 0-1 loss to Angola
Following a stunning 1-0 defeat to Angola in their opening match of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, frustrated fans at the Baba Yara Stadium reacted violently.
Angola’s Milson secured victory with a last-minute goal, ending Ghana’s 24-year unbeaten run at the venue.
As the Black Stars struggled to find form, disappointed spectators began leaving the stadium. However, some enraged fans stayed behind, hurling water bottles onto the pitch in protest of the team’s poor performance.
A few individuals even stormed the field, vandalizing advertising boards and other stadium property.
The situation was brought under control when security forces, including police and military personnel, intervened to disperse the unruly crowd and restore order.
