During the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympics at the Stade de France, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo formally handed over the Olympic flag to Karen Bass, the Mayor of Los Angeles, which will host the 2028 Games.

The ceremony marked a memorable transition from Paris to the next host city.
