Obasanjo, Abdulsalami, Gusau hold closed-door meeting with Babangida in Minna
On Sunday, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, alongside former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar and General Aliyu Gusau, visited former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida at his Hill Top residence in Minna, Niger State.
According to sources, Obasanjo arrived at Minna International Airport at around 4:30 p.m. and proceeded directly to Babangida’s residence, where he joined Abdulsalami and Gusau.
The four elder statesmen held a closed-door meeting that lasted about an hour, with Obasanjo departing around 6:20 p.m.
While the details of their discussions were not made public, sources suggest that the meeting was likely focused on pressing national issues, particularly Nigeria’s current economic challenges.
“The meeting might not be unconnected with national issues especially the current hardship being faced by Nigerians. But I am not confirming to you what was discussed.”
“Obasanjo arrived Minna in company of 10 people and he drove straight to IBB’s residence. He was joined by General Abdulsalami Abubakar and General Aliyu Gusau. The former president came in a chattered aircraft and landed at Minna Airport”, he said.
