Barcelona’s Dani Olmo sidelined with hamstring injury, to miss key matches
Spanish playmaker Dani Olmo is facing four to five weeks out of action after suffering a hamstring injury during Barcelona’s 4-1 victory over Girona in La Liga on Sunday.
The injury was confirmed after tests conducted on Monday morning, according to a statement from Barcelona.
The 26-year-old, who joined Barcelona from RB Leipzig this summer, will miss several crucial fixtures, including Barcelona’s opening Champions League games against Monaco and Young Boys, as well as multiple La Liga matches.
He will also be absent from Spain’s Nations League matches against Denmark and Serbia in early October.
Olmo, who has scored three goals in three matches for Barcelona this season, is expected to return in time for the high-profile clashes against Bayern Munich on October 23 and Real Madrid on October 27.
