The family of the late Afropop star IleriOluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has called for the cancellation of the ‘Sing for Mohbad’ concert organized by Pastor Larry Omodia.

Mohbad’s father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, stated that the promoter and his team should refrain from commercializing Mohbad’s death until the court reviews the substantive application for an interlocutory injunction.

According to the family: “In the motion with suit number HCT/871/2024, which was argued by Emmanuel Oroko, Esq., for the applicant, Mr. Joseph Aloba stated that Justice Osunfisan ordered as follows: ‘An‘ order of interim injunction is hereby granted restraining the respondent, whether by himself, servants, agents, assigns, or otherwise however called, from holding any event titled ‘Sing for Mohbad and Win’ organized by the respondent, which is set to be held on the 12th, 13, and 14 of September 2024 at Aqua Lounge or any other place pending the determination of the originating motion for interlocutory injunction dated and filed on the 6th September 2024. The order of interim injunction hereby granted on the 12th day of September 2024 is to last for 7 days following the provision of the Rules of Court.”

Earlier, the public was advised to respect the solemn period and not to commercialize the occasion by using the goodwill of their son.

The matter has been adjourned to October 7, 2024, for the hearing of the originating motion for interlocutory injunction.
