Gunmen attack vehicle, injure two, steal large sum of money in Delta
In a shocking event in Asaba, Delta State, unidentified gunmen reportedly opened fire on two occupants of a Toyota Camry on Tuesday, leaving them seriously injured.
The assailants also made off with an undisclosed sum of money.
The violent incident took place along Old Awai Road in the state capital, causing widespread panic among residents and passersby who scrambled for safety.
Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle, bearing a government plate number, was intercepted by the gunmen who then targeted the two male occupants. According to an anonymous source, the attackers fled the scene after seizing two Ghana-must-go bags filled with an unknown amount of cash.
The victims, critically injured, were quickly transported to a nearby hospital by concerned bystanders.
When reached for comment, the Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Mr. Bright Edafe, declined to provide further details, stating that no official information had been released regarding the incident.
