Legendary midfielder, Iniesta set to retire from professional football

Andrés Iniesta, celebrated as one of the greatest midfielders in football history, has made the significant decision to retire from professional football at the age of 40.

The iconic Spanish player is set to officially announce his retirement on October 8, marking the conclusion of an illustrious career spanning over two decades.

Iniesta’s football journey began at Barcelona’s renowned La Masia academy, where he quickly distinguished himself with his remarkable ball control, vision, and composure on the field.

His exceptional talent caught the attention of then-Barcelona captain Pep Guardiola, who famously remarked to Xavi, “You’re going to retire me. This lad [Iniesta] is going to retire us all.”

Throughout his career, Iniesta has earned accolades for his extraordinary technical skills.
