Zenith Bank customers have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with the bank’s ongoing maintenance, which has caused significant disruptions to online transactions.

Many reported difficulties in making payments and accessing banking services, particularly on Tuesday, despite prior notifications of the scheduled downtime.

The bank had informed customers on Saturday that maintenance would occur from September 29 to October 1, with downtime expected between 12:01 AM and 5:00 AM.

However, to the surprise of many, the bank did not begin its maintenance until Tuesday, October 1, 2024, leaving customers unable to access critical services such as the Mobile Banking App, USSD Service, and Internet Banking during the day.

Customers like Olaniyi Oludare expressed disappointment, recounting how the downtime left him stranded, unable to withdraw money for food or transport.

Others, like #deji4ever on X, criticized the bank for not scheduling the maintenance at night, particularly at the end of the month when employees expect to access their salaries.

Zenith Bank responded with another notification on Tuesday, stating that the maintenance was necessary to improve service quality and would last until 2:30 PM.

However, users like #orissonline continued to vent their frustrations online, urging the bank to reconsider its timing for maintenance.

The outage has sparked debate among customers about the importance of conducting maintenance during off-peak hours to avoid disruption of daily banking activities.

Many hope that future maintenance will be scheduled more thoughtfully to prevent inconveniences.
