Barcelona have officially signed former Arsenal and Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, marking his return to top-level football after retiring in the summer.

The Polish shot-stopper has been lured out of retirement following Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s long-term injury, providing Barcelona with an experienced option between the posts.

Szczesny was spotted in the stands during Barca’s 4-0 Champions League victory over Young Boys, and he has now joined the club as a free agent, agreeing to a one-year contract that will keep him at the Nou Camp for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

This move represents a significant chapter in Szczesny’s career, following his Premier League experience with Arsenal and a successful run in Italy with Juventus.

Barcelona fans will be keen to see how the veteran goalkeeper fits into Xavi’s system as the club pushes for silverware in La Liga and European competitions.
