Wike supporters protest in Port Harcourt as LG poll holds

Supporters of former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, took to the streets of Port Harcourt on Saturday, demanding that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) comply with a recent High Court ruling regarding the ongoing local government elections.

The protestors, carrying placards reading “Obey Court Order” and “No Justice, No Election,” voiced their displeasure over alleged irregularities in the electoral process.

This demonstration follows a Rivers State High Court judgment that ordered the suspension of the elections due to procedural flaws.

Despite the ruling, RSIEC proceeded with the elections, prompting Wike’s supporters to demand a halt to the polls and adherence to the court’s decision.
