Atletico Madrid winger Rasheedat Ajibade has been honored as the Spanish Liga F Player of the Month for September, recognizing her remarkable performance for the club.

The 24-year-old Nigerian star delivered outstanding displays throughout the month, netting five goals and providing two assists in four league appearances for Atletico Madrid.

Ajibade’s brilliance on the field has solidified her position as one of the league’s elite players, leaving both fans and opponents impressed.

She claimed the prestigious award by surpassing notable competitors such as Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor, Real Madrid’s Caroline Weir, Levante Badalona’s María Llompart, and Athletic Club Femenino’s Nerea Nevado.

Currently, Ajibade is the second-highest scorer in the Spanish Liga F, just behind Pajor in the race for the golden boot.

This recognition adds to her growing list of accolades, as she was previously named Atlético’s Player of the Month in March 2024. During the 2023/2024 season, she scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 30 matches, earning the title of Atletico Madrid’s Player of the Season.

Ajibade’s form has been instrumental in Atletico Madrid’s campaign this season, with the club currently sitting third in the league standings, behind only Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The Nigerian captain’s recognition comes shortly after leading her country to secure a place in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament for the first time in 16 years.

Her rise to prominence in Spanish football has been meteoric since joining Atletico Madrid in 2021. She has quickly established herself as a key player for the club, consistently delivering top-draw performances.

The latest award is a testament to her continual growth and impact on the pitch, further cementing her status as one of Nigeria’s brightest football stars on the international stage.
