Former Liverpool Boss, Klopp, appointed head of operations at Red Bull
Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has taken on a new role as head of football operations for Red Bull, overseeing their clubs in Leipzig, Salzburg, and New York.
Klopp, 57, will begin his position on January 1, 2025. Having stepped down from Liverpool last season after a successful nine-year stint, Klopp expressed enthusiasm for his new challenge.
“After nearly 25 years on the sidelines, I couldn’t be more excited to be involved in a project like this,” he said.
Red Bull clarified that Klopp’s role will focus on higher-level strategy, without direct involvement in the day-to-day running of the clubs.
“I couldn’t be more excited,” Klopp said, adding “I see my role primarily as a mentor for the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs.”
News360 Nigeria reports that Klopp’s contract includes an exit clause that allows him to take over as manager of the German national side if he is approached.
The former Borussia Dortmund head coach rejuvenated Liverpool, winning the Premier League and Champions League during his tenure at Anfield.
