Former Sheffield United star, George Baldock, passes away at 31

Former Sheffield United defender George Baldock has tragically passed away at the age of 31.

The news was confirmed after his body was discovered in his swimming pool in Greece.

Multiple reports from Greek media revealed that Baldock’s wife became concerned when she was unable to contact him for several hours. This led to the unfortunate discovery of his passing.

Sheffield United Football Club expressed deep shock and sorrow over the loss of their former player, stating, “The club is shocked and extremely saddened to learn of the passing of George Baldock.”

“The defender left the club in the summer after seven years at Bramall Lane and was extremely popular with supporters, staff and team-mates who pulled on a red and white shirt alongside him.

“The sincere condolences of everyone associated with Sheffield United are extended to George’s family and friends,” Sheffield United said in a statement.
