Bishop David Abioye, Thomas Aremu to retire from Living Faith Church

Bishop David Abioye and Bishop Thomas Aremu, Vice Presidents of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as the Liberation Commission, will retire from service in October 2024.

This is in accordance with the revised operational manual, or Mandate, of the Liberation Commission.

Bishop Thomas Aremu’s valedictory service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at LFC Basorun, Ibadan, Oyo State. Meanwhile, Bishop David Abioye’s farewell will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Durumi, Abuja.

Bishop Abioye, who has been a close companion of Bishop Oyedepo since 1979, was one of the pioneering pastors of the church’s branches in 1987.

He made history when he was consecrated in 1993 at the Garden of Faith in Kaduna at age 32, becoming the youngest Bishop of a full-fledged church at the time.

Bishop Aremu, an accountant who joined the ministry full-time, has also played a pivotal role in the church.

Among the seven Bishops consecrated in November 1999 in Kaduna, he remains the only one still serving actively.

This occasion marks a historic first for the church, as it will openly celebrate the retirement of pastors who have served with distinction.

According to the revised Mandate, the retirement age has been changed from 60 to 58.

Future leaders, excluding the Founder, will serve for a maximum of two seven-year terms, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees.
