Ex-One direction star, Liam Payne passes away

Former One Direction member Liam Payne has tragically passed away at the age of 31 following a fall from a hotel window in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at a hotel located on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighborhood, as confirmed by local authorities.

Police were alerted to the scene following a 911 call reporting an aggressive individual, suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

While the police statement did not explicitly name Payne, reports suggest that he was the individual involved in the tragic event.

Just days before, Payne was seen attending a concert by his former bandmate Niall Horan in Argentina on October 2.

Payne rose to international stardom as part of the boyband One Direction, which included Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. The group, formed on the UK’s The X Factor in 2010, went on to achieve phenomenal success before going on hiatus in 2015.

Following the group’s break, Payne launched his solo career, releasing his debut album LP1 in 2019. He had been working on new music, with a planned tour in 2023, though it was postponed due to his battle with a kidney infection.

Payne leaves behind his son, Bear, born in 2017, whom he shared with singer Cheryl Cole. In a heartfelt 2023 video, Payne spoke lovingly about his son, calling him “awesome” and “a wonder.”
