Boniface didn’t sustain major injury, confirms Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen has confirmed that forward Victor Boniface did not sustain major injuries following a car accident on Sunday.
The 23-year-old was en route to the airport to pick up friends when his Mercedes-Benz collided with an oncoming truck.
In a statement to Bild, a German news outlet, the club reassured fans, saying: “He is fine. Boniface only had two minor injuries to his hand.”
Boniface had played a key role in Leverkusen’s 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt just a day before the accident, scoring the decisive goal 18 minutes from time despite missing an earlier penalty.
