CAF unveils date, venue for 2024 Player of the Year Awards
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially revealed that the 2024 CAF Awards will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 16, 2024.
This will be the third consecutive year that the vibrant city hosts the event, continuing a tradition of celebrating Africa’s finest football talent.
Marrakech, renowned for its cultural heritage and booming tourism, will serve as the venue for honoring exceptional achievements in both club and national football.
The coveted awards, particularly the CAF African Player of the Year titles in the men’s and women’s categories, are the highlight of the ceremony.
Although the final shortlist for Africa’s Best Player is yet to be confirmed, notable contenders include Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and Morocco’s Brahim Díaz, all of whom have had remarkable seasons.
Reigning men’s African Footballer of the Year, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, remains a strong presence in the race for the award following his stellar performances on the club and international fronts.
In the women’s category, Asisat Oshoala, another Nigerian football icon, holds the title after a stellar year on the pitch.
CAF is yet to confirm the official start time for the 2024 ceremony, with further details expected to follow soon.
