Tinubu’s Cabinet: Betta Edu is gone – Presidency

The presidency has officially ruled out any possibility of former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Betta Edu, returning to President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.

Edu was suspended on January 8 amid public outcry over an alleged N585 million scandal.

Despite speculation regarding her potential reinstatement during the recent cabinet reshuffling, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, confirmed on Sunday that “Betta Edu is gone.” He also announced that a replacement has been appointed from Plateau State to fill her position.

“Betta Edu is gone. Her position has been taken by someone from Plateau State. As far as this government is concerned, there is no place for her in this cabinet.

“The EFCC has not shared what they have but if you go by what the president has done, it shows that EFCC must have submitted something that actually justified that suspension,” he said in an interview with Channels TV.
