Tinubu appoints PDP Chieftain, Dan Orbih, as FCET Umunze, Governing Council chairman
President Bola Tinubu has authorised the appointment of Dan Orbih, the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-South, as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Anambra State.
Orbih’s appointment was included in the list of newly reconstituted governing councils of tertiary education institutions in the country that was released by the Federal Government on Friday.
News360 Nigeria reports that the Etsako-born Orbih and ally of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike had been at dagger-drawn with the leadership of the PDP in Edo State.
In April 2024, Orbih rejected his membership in the Edo PDP 2024 Governorship Campaign Council.
Orbih’s name was featured on the 200-membership Campaign Council list of the PDP for the September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election.
The council, which is championing the campaign of Asue Ighodalo – the PDP gubernatorial candidate, is headed by Governor Godwin Obaseki as Chairman, with his deputy, Marvellous Omobayo Godwins;
