BREAKING: Tinubu appoints Daniel Bwala as media adviser, names three others DGs
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications for the State House, as announced on Thursday in a statement from Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
Bwala, who previously worked closely with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, was a visible supporter of Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2023 presidential election, which Atiku lost to Tinubu. Following the election, Bwala made headlines by shifting his political allegiance to Tinubu, a move that stirred significant public discourse.
Additionally, Onanuga revealed the appointment of three new directors-general for key government agencies:
Mr. Olawale Olopade has been appointed as the Director-General of the National Sports Commission. Olopade, known for his vast experience in sports administration, has previously served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State and led the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
Dr. Abisoye Fagade will serve as Director-General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Fagade is a seasoned expert in marketing communications and the founder and managing director of Sodium Brand Solutions.
Dr. Adebowale Adedokun has assumed the role of Director-General at the Bureau of Public Procurement. Before this appointment, Adedokun was the Director of Research, Training, and Strategic Planning within the bureau.
These appointments underscore President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening leadership and enhancing the efficiency of critical government institutions.
