Nigeria, Bahrain establish diplomatic ties, explore trade, energy cooperation

Nigeria and Bahrain have formally established diplomatic relations following a high-level meeting between their representatives. The ministers of both countries signed a communiqué to officially mark the beginning of this new partnership.

According to a statement, the discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic relations, attracting foreign direct investment from Bahrain, boosting trade and investment opportunities, and enhancing cooperation in the oil and gas sectors. Special attention was given to onshore projects and the development of Nigeria’s eighth train LNG.

The statement further revealed that the ministers also discussed training Nigerian diplomats and deepening collaboration within multilateral organizations.
