Gunmen kill ECWA pastor in Gombe, Govt orders manhunt

Tragedy struck Lubo community in Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State on Monday, as Reverend Bala Galadima, the presiding pastor of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) worship centre, was murdered by suspected armed robbers.

The assailants reportedly stormed the cleric’s residence in the early hours of the morning, taking his life in a brutal attack that has left the community in shock.

Reacting to the incident, Governor Inuwa Yahaya condemned the killing and ordered security agencies to track down the perpetrators.

In a statement by his media aide, Isma’ila Uba Misilli, the governor described the attack as an assault on the peace and security of Gombe State.

“Governor Inuwa Yahaya strongly condemned the reprehensible act, describing it as an assault on the peace and security that Gombe State has long enjoyed. The governor stressed that such incidents must not be allowed to undermine the peaceful coexistence in the state.”

He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, ECWA Church, and the Christian community, praying for the repose of Rev. Galadima’s soul.
