Nigerian Troops capture suspected bandit along Zamfara route

A suspected bandit linked to criminal activities across Zamfara and neighboring states has been arrested by Nigerian military personnel.

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, in collaboration with ASKRARAWA vigilante operatives, apprehended the suspect during a patrol in Rijiya Tsakar Dawa, Gusau Local Government Area.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the arrest took place along the Bawa Ganga–Kwaren Ganuwa road on Tuesday, February 27, 2025.

Authorities believe the suspect is part of a gang responsible for ongoing attacks in the region, including kidnapping for ransom and deadly assaults.

Security forces continue their operations to curb banditry in the state.
