The controversy surrounding Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan’s suspension from the Senate continues to unfold, as she has now taken her case to an international platform.

On Tuesday, the suspended Kogi Central Senator addressed the Women in Parliament session at the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) meeting held at the United Nations in New York. She called for justice and urged global democratic institutions to intervene in what she described as an unjust suspension.

Senator Natasha maintained that her removal from the Red Chamber was “illegal” and insisted she was unfairly treated. Following her speech, she raised concerns about her safety, claiming that there were indications she could be detained in New York by “the powers that be” from Nigeria due to her decision to speak out at the global event.

With this latest development, the dispute between Senator Natasha and Senate President Godswill Akpabio remains in the spotlight, as the senator continues to push for international attention on the matter.
