Tension as explosion hits trans-Niger pipeline in Rivers

An explosion has struck the Trans-Niger Pipeline at Bodo, in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, setting the affected section ablaze.
The cause of the explosion remains undetermined as investigations are underway.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether the incident resulted from human interference, particularly amid recent threats by militant groups.
The threats stem from the Federal Government’s decision to withhold Rivers State’s allocation due to the ongoing political crisis in the region.
The explosion reportedly occurred on Monday night along the critical export pipeline that transports crude to the Bonny Terminal.
