BREAKING: Tinubu elected for another term as Chairman of ECOWAS

About twelve months after taking on the leadership of the regional bloc, President Bola Tinubu has been re-elected to the office of chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

Tinubu who rose to power in May 2023 was re-elected as the ECOWAS chairman during the 65th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government..

The summit which was attended by the presidents and representatives of 12 member States held in Abuja.

On arrival, the West African leaders were expected to elect a new chair to oversee the operations of the bloc for the next year during the meeting, which commenced about at 1 p.m.
