A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, bail set at N10 billion with two sureties of equal amount.

According to a report by AIT, Justice James Omotosho, in his ruling on Mamman’s bail application, stipulated that the sureties must possess properties in Abuja with a minimum value of N750 million each.

Additionally, they are required to submit certified land documents to the court, along with proof of tax payment for the past three years.

The court further mandated that the defendants provide bank statements and surrender their international passports.

Alternatively, the court ruled that Mamman, who served as a minister under the then administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari, can present a bank guarantee for the full bail amount, in which case sureties are not required.

The trial is scheduled to commence on September 25, 2024, as the court has adjourned the arraignment to that date.
