Although Bosun Tijani was born in Agege, Lagos State on July 20, 1977, he is originally from Ogun State.
After completing his secondary education in Abeokuta, he went on to the University of Jos in Plateau State to earn a diploma in computer science.
In 2002, he returned to the same university to earn a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Later, in 2007, he graduated with an MSc in Information Systems and Management from the Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom, and in 2023, he earned a PhD in Innovation and Economic Development from Manchester University.
Bosun Tijani studied how to create innovation ecosystems in developing nations for his doctorate.
Personal life
Bosun Tijani is a devout Christian who is married to Moji Tijani. The couple has been blessed with children.
He is an avid fitness enthusiast and football fan.
He participated in Harvard Kennedy School’s Innovation for Economic Development executive program in 2013 and Stanford University’s Draper Hills Fellow program at the Center for Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) in 2014.
Career experience
Tijani collaborated with the International Trade Centre in Geneva, Switzerland, on a research project.
He oversaw the completion of the HP, IEEE, and University of Ibadan telecenter deployment in Nigeria as well as the deployment of the ODel learning center at the Africa Virtual University in Kenya.
Additionally, he oversaw the HP Micro-enterprise Acceleration Program learning center’s installation at the Lagos Business School in Nigeria and gave notable assistance for its installation in Egypt and Morocco.
Bosun Tijani organized Mark Zuckerberg’s first visit to Nigeria in 2006, along with several other international technology luminaries. Additionally, he oversaw several technology initiatives in Lagos State.
In 2010, he established the Tijani Co-creation Hub (CcHUB), a center for technological innovation, and Truppr, a social media platform that enables fitness enthusiasts to host or participate in amateur sporting events in their community.
In 2019, he also founded STEM Cafes in Lagos, Kigali, and Nairobi for children and adults.
Bosun Tijani has amassed a number of work experiences in the cyber and technology sector over the years, holding positions as Chairman of LifeBank and as an African e-commerce furniture and lifestyle brand Taeillo.
Since 2017, he has been a fellow of the Desmond Tutu Leadership Association.
