Hisbah destroys alcohol, illegal substances worth N60m in Katsina
No fewer than 1,750 crates of alcoholic beverages and 33 jerry cans of locally-brewed beer as well as illicit drugs valued at N60 million have been destroyed by Katsina State Hisbah Board in Funtua Local Government Area.
The Hisbah Commander, Dr. Aminu Usman, shared this update with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.
Usman revealed that the operation involved the confiscation and subsequent destruction of the affected products.
He emphasized that this action aligns with Hisbah’s mission to uphold moral standards within the community.
Usman praised the board’s officials for their dedication and encouraged them to remain vigilant in their duties.
The Hisbah Commander also appealed for support from religious leaders, stressing that the Hisbah’s mission transcends any particular group or sect.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Dikko Radda for his unwavering support of the board’s initiatives.
Additionally, Usman called on the public to provide reliable information about locations where immoral activities occur.
He urged parents, educators, and community leaders to enhance their efforts in fostering discipline and good moral values among the youth.
