Nigerians frustrated as NNPC recruitment portal suffers downtime
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has reported that its job application portal is currently experiencing downtime due to “unprecedented traffic.”
On Friday, NNPC announced a recruitment exercise for qualified applicants, with the application period set to close on August 20.
Checks by our correspondents revealed that the agency’s website was displaying server error messages.
Reacting to the issue, the national oil company said its technicians are making efforts to resolve the problems as soon as possible.
“Due to unprecedented traffic to the NNPC Ltd. career page from applicants applying for vacancies, the site is currently experiencing slow load times,” the statement reads.
“Our technicians are working diligently to rectify the problem as quickly as possible.
“Please be assured that the application process deadline remains August 20, 2024.”
The NNPC also said its team is working assiduously to handle the surge of applications.
“While we acknowledge the keen interest of Nigerians in having an exciting career experience with us, we reassure all Nigerians of a transparent and merit-based recruitment process,” the NNPC said.
The national oil company encouraged “capable Nigerians” to take maximum advantage of the unique opportunity.
