Ifeanyi Ubah: Nnewi traditional ruler declares 3-day mourning
Igwe Dr. Kenneth Orizu, the traditional ruler of Nnewi, has declared a three-day mourning period in honor of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who passed away in the United Kingdom over the weekend.
The late Senator, who represented the Anambra South senatorial district and held the traditional title of Ebubechukwuzo Nnewi, will be mourned by the people of Nnewi and other residents.
A statement by Prince Obi Orizu, Principal Secretary to the traditional ruler, urged the community to join in mourning and invited clergy from different religious groups to lead prayers for the peaceful repose of Senator Ubah.
“The three-day mourning period commences today, July 30th, 2024, and will conclude on August 1, 2024.
“The monarch’s declaration is a testament to the profound impact Senator Ubah had on the community.
“The late Senator Ubah was a renowned figure in Nnewi, celebrated for his contributions to the community’s development.
“His passing has left a void in the hearts of many, and the mourning period is a fitting tribute to his memory,” the statement said.
