VIDEO: RRS, Taskforce hit the streets for visibility patrol in lagos

In a bid to enhance security and preparedness for emergencies, the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad commenced a joint patrol with the Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Special Offences Enforcement Unit on Wednesday.

The RRS disclosed this in a statement and photos shared on X.com on Wednesday.

The statement read, “Rapid Response Squad led by its Commander, CSP Shola Jejeloye, and Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (Taskforce) captained by its Chairman, CSP Adetayo Akerele, this morning carried out a joint visibility patrol and fitness walk for its personnel in readiness for emergencies in the state.

“Areas covered by the teams included Ikeja, Old Toll Gate, Oshodi, Ojota, Iyana Oworo, Third Mainland Bridge, VI, Ikoyi, Lekki, Lagos Island, Apongbon.”

The RRS added that the visibility patrol will continue in other parts of the state.

This development comes amidst online speculation, with some Nigerians on X.com suggesting that the officers were deployed ahead of the hunger protest scheduled for August 1st.
