Tinubu’s leadership style “hard-hearted”, says Farooq Kperogi
In a recent commentary, renowned Mass Communication professor and newspaper columnist Farooq Kperogi expressed strong criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style, describing it as “hard-hearted.”
Reacting to the president’s national broadcast concerning the recent nationwide protests against hunger, Kperogi urged the administration to reverse its economic policies, particularly advocating for the restoration of fuel and electricity subsidies.
Kperogi argued that Tinubu’s refusal to reinstate these subsidies has intensified economic hardships, making life difficult for many Nigerians. He described the president’s speech as showing a “callous disregard” for the struggles faced by ordinary citizens.
The professor stressed that energy security is critical to national security, warning that current policies could endanger the country’s stability.
“The truth Tinubu must know is that the current hardship in Nigeria is not survivable. This is not an issue of political partisanship.
“There’s no alternative to restoring petrol and electricity subsidies. Energy security is national security.”, Kperogi stated on his Facebook page.
