Darkness looms across Nigeria as national grid experiences partial collapse

On Monday, the national electricity grid suffered a partial collapse, causing blackouts in various regions of the country.

An unnamed official from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed the incident and indicated that efforts to restore power are underway.

By 1:33 pm on Monday, total power generation had dropped to zero. This incident marks the fifth collapse of the grid in 2024.
