Arsenal vs Wolves: Arteta receives injury boost ahead of first EPL fixture
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has received a significant boost with the return of Jurrien Timber to first-team training on Wednesday.
The Dutch defender’s comeback couldn’t have come at a better time, as the Gunners prepare for their opening Premier League fixture against Wolves.
Timber, who joined Arsenal last summer, had a frustrating debut season. After an impressive start, his campaign was cut short due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained on the very first day. This injury sidelined him for almost the entire 2023-24 season.
However, the 23-year-old made a brief return to action against Everton on the final day of the season, giving fans a glimpse of his potential. He was also part of Arteta’s squad during the US pre-season tour, showing signs of regaining his fitness and form.
Timber has now been pictured back among his teammates in first-team training ahead of the opening game of the season at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.
Now, with Timber back in full training, Arteta will be eager to integrate him into the squad as they aim for a strong start to the new Premier League season. His return adds depth and quality to Arsenal’s defense, a crucial factor as the team looks to compete at the highest level once again.
