Falconets head coach, Danjuma announces squad for 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

Falconets head coach Chris Danjuma has officially announced the squad for the upcoming 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, according to a report by News360 Nigeria.

The tournament is set to run from August 31 to September 22.

Danjuma has selected a 21-player roster to represent Nigeria in the competition, which includes three goalkeepers, six defenders, five midfielders, and seven forwards.

Leading the squad is Madrid CFF forward Opeyemi Ajakaye, who is anticipated to play a pivotal role in the team’s performance.

The roster also features five players with previous call-ups to the Super Falcons: Jumoke Alani, Rofiat Imuran, Comfort Folorunsho, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu, and Flourish Sabastine.

These players bring valuable experience that could be crucial for Nigeria’s success in the tournament.

The announcement sets the stage for Nigeria’s campaign at the U-20 Women’s World Cup, where the Falconets will aim to make a strong impact on the global stage.

The Falconets are drawn in Group D with Germany, Venezuela and South Korea.

Nigeria will begin her campaign against South Korea at the Estadio El Techo in Bogotá on September 1.
