Woman arrested in Nasarawa with 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition
The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested Mrs. Hauwa Sani, a resident of Doro village in Katsina State, for allegedly being in possession of 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition.
The arrest took place at Rafin Sanyi village in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
According to a statement from the State Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramhan Nansel, the suspect was apprehended while traveling with a two-year-old child. The ammunition was reportedly concealed in a gallon of palm oil, and Mrs. Sani was en route to Katsina State.
The police also recovered a mobile phone and N78,500 in cash from the suspect. Following the arrest, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Shehu Nadada, ordered the transfer of the suspect and the recovered items to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for further investigation.
This incident is reminiscent of a similar case two months ago, where another woman was arrested in the state while transporting ammunition to Katsina.
