Actor Kunle Afolayan loses mum
Nigerian filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has shared the heartbreaking news of his mother’s passing on Instagram, paying tribute to her cherished life and legacy.
Posting heartfelt memories, including photos of her with her grandchildren, he announced her peaceful departure.
“It is hard to accept but she surely lived a good life,” he wrote. “Our mother, Maami Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan, has gone to rest (1943-2024).
She is survived by children and grandchildren. Please keep us in your prayers.”
Kunle’s brother, actor Gabriel Afolayan, also expressed his grief, describing her as a beloved “big mummy” and reflecting on the void her passing has left in their lives. “Home is not cool. We lost a very dear one,” he shared. “I will miss my gist and dance partner.”
The Afolayan family has received an outpouring of condolences and prayers as they remember their mother’s love and warmth.
