Afrobeats star Davido to perform at United Nations General Assembly event
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Davido, is slated to perform at an event hosted by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The UNGA, headquartered in New York, stands as one of the six main organs of the United Nations, playing a crucial role as its central platform for deliberation, policymaking, and global representation.
On Tuesday, Davido took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce his exciting upcoming performance scheduled for tonight at one of the prestigious UNGA events.
The Grammy-nominated artist encouraged his fans to stay tuned and look forward to his electrifying performance.
“Touch down New York City for the @UN General Assembly. My first time attending should be interesting,” he wrote.
“Also performing tonight at one of the events ! Catch me if u can!”
Davido’s announcement comes a few days after DJ Cuppy, the Nigerian disc jockey, made history at the UNGA. She hosted an opening session at the event.
During her session, Cuppy emphasized the importance of engaging young people worldwide in meaningful conversations.
She revealed her passion for quality education — the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4).
The disc jockey also highlighted her foundation’s efforts in funding education for underprivileged Africans.
After her keynote session, Cuppy also gave a musical performance at the event.
With strings of awards and honourary mentions, Davido has established himself as one of the leading names in the Nigerian music industry.
