Akpabio names Chinedu Akabueze as new Chief of Staff

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has appointed Chinedu Akabueze, the outgoing Clerk of the Senate, as his new Chief of Staff.
Akabueze takes over from Sylvester Okonkwo, who has been named the Executive Director of the newly established South East Development Commission.
Akabueze is set to retire after serving as Clerk of the Senate since March 4, 2022, and reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.
In a related development, the National Assembly Service Commission has approved the appointment of Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba as the new Clerk of the Senate, effective December 11, 2024.
