Alleged Summon: Rivers Government disowns fake reports on Fubara

The Rivers State Government has raised the alarm over the circulation of false announcements on social media falsely attributed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The government condemned the misinformation, warning the public to ignore such fabrications aimed at stirring panic and unrest across the state.

According to an official press release, one of the fake announcements falsely claimed that Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, referred to as “suspended” and Deputy Governor Prof. Mrs. Ngozi Nma Odu were summoned for a meeting at the Government House on Friday, April 18, 2025.

The government has dismissed this report as completely false and emphasized that it did not originate from any legitimate source within the state administration.

“These are the works of mischief-makers bent on destabilizing the peace in Rivers State,” the statement read.

“The public is urged to disregard such announcements and desist from sharing unverified information.”
