Anambra Police nab suspected gun runner, retrieve 375 live cartridges

Police in Anambra State revealed that one Felix Owaya, 48, of Ika South Local Government Area in Delta State, have been arrested with 375 live cartridges. 

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Owaya was arrested about 1:30 p.m. on Saturday by Fegge division operatives while on patrol along Niger Street in Onitsha.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he was sent by one Charles Ogboma, to a man he is yet to mention, to collect the ammunition.

The statement added that investigation is still ongoing.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Itam, while commending the police officers who made the recovery for their vigilance and tenacity of purpose, directed all personnel in the command, to sustain the tempo of crime prevention and detection in service of the people of the state.
