APC lauds peaceful conduct of Rivers LG Elections
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has praised the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for its successful management of the local government council elections.
Chief Emeka Beke, the APC Chairman in Rivers State, commended the peaceful nature of the election after casting his vote at Elibrada Community in Emohua LGA.
Despite the absence of security personnel, Beke noted that the election was calm and well-coordinated, with a satisfactory voter turnout.
Beke also condemned the burning of the factional APC secretariat belonging to Chief Tony Okocha’s camp, distancing his members from the act and describing it as barbaric.
Meanwhile, Prince Charles Beke, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, also applauded RSIEC’s organization, citing the timely arrival of election materials and peaceful voting as evidence of a well-conducted process.
Additionally, Barr. Israel Abosi, the Action Peoples Party (APP) Chairmanship Candidate for Ikwerre LGA, awarded RSIEC a 95% score, highlighting the peaceful election in a historically tense area.
