Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has been ruled out until December due to an ankle injury sustained during international duty with Norway.

Initially expected to make a quick recovery, further assessments revealed significant ligament damage, extending his time on the sidelines.

Ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League opener against Atalanta, coach Mikel Arteta confirmed the extent of Odegaard’s injury, stating, “The scans showed significant damage to one of the ankle ligaments, and we’re going to lose him for a while.”

With the 25-year-old midfielder set to undergo rehabilitation, Arsenal faces a midfield shortage. Summer signing Mikel Merino is still recovering from his own injury, leaving Declan Rice to return from suspension in time for their upcoming Premier League clash against Manchester City.
