Boniface shines as Leverkusen beats Hoffenheim 4-1

Nigerian international, Victor Boniface delivered a standout performance, scoring twice as Bayer Leverkusen secured a dominant 4-1 victory over Hoffenheim in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday.

Leverkusen took charge early at Hoffenheim’s home ground. In the 17th minute, Martin Terrier’s goal, initially ruled offside, was awarded after a VAR review, with Boniface providing the assist to put Leverkusen ahead 1-0.

Boniface further impressed with a stunning solo goal in the 30th minute, showcasing his skill inside the box to extend Leverkusen’s lead.

Though Hoffenheim’s Mergim Berisha found the net in the 38th minute, his effort was ruled offside, allowing Leverkusen to maintain control throughout the game.

Victor Boniface had another chance to score just before halftime, but his low drive was well-saved by Hoffenheim’s Oliver Baumann, who kept the scoreline respectable.

The second half saw more drama as Bayer Leverkusen was awarded a penalty in the 71st minute after a VAR review. Florian Wirtz stepped up and calmly converted the penalty in the 72nd minute to make it 3-1.

Boniface completed his brace in the 76th minute with another impressive individual effort. He managed to strike the ball low into the middle of the goal from inside the penalty area, leaving Baumann helpless and securing a 4-1 victory for Leverkusen.
