BREAKING: Bandits abduct two journalists, their families in Kaduna

Two journalists and their family members in Kaduna have been abducted from their residences in the Millennium City area of Kaduna.

The abductors entered the community at approximately 10:30 p.m. yesterday, Saturday, July 6, 2024, according to the victims’ neighbours.

“Abdulgafar Alabelewe, the correspondent of The Nation Newspapers and three members of the family.

“Same with the man in Blueprint Newspapers Abdulraheem Aodu and his wife kidnapped too”, a professional colleague close to the kidnapped journalists told News Express this Sunday morning.

Confirming the incident, Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Kaduna State, Mansir Hassan, said: “We have deployed our operatives into the bush were the kidnappers are suspected to be in the area.

“The victims are the Chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel, Kaduna State NUJ Council, AbdulGafar Alabelewe and 3 of his family members who were kidnapped last night at Danhono 2, Millennium City, Kaduna.

“Also, the Correspondent of Blueprint Newspaper Abdulraheem Aodo and his wife were kidnapped too at the same place.

“AbdulGafar Alabelewe is also the Correspondent of the Nation Newspaper.”
