The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Binta Nyako, has indefinitely adjourned the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The decision, made on Monday, February 10, 2025, follows Kanu’s insistence that Justice Nyako should not handle his case, citing her previous recusal from the matter.
This comes after an earlier directive for Kanu to appear in court on February 10, 2025.
In January 2025, Kanu petitioned the National Judicial Council (NJC), accusing Justice Nyako of judicial misconduct in handling his trial. He also demanded that his case be transferred to the South-East if no other judge in Abuja was willing to preside over it.
With the latest adjournment, the legal battle over Kanu’s trial remains uncertain.
