BREAKING: Dele Farotimi denied bail, remanded in prison custody

Human rights lawyer, Dele Farotimi, has been denied bail and remanded in prison custody by a magistrate court.

His case, involving a 16-count charge of alleged defamation against Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Afe Babalola, has been adjourned until December 20, 2024.

Farotimi arrived at the court premises at approximately 9:49 AM on Tuesday, December 10, escorted by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad and the Nigeria Correctional Service.

The court proceedings, which captured significant public interest, ended with the decision to remand him until the next hearing.
